Metal Glow Plugs

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hinged Socket (3220)

• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Procedure

- Turn off the ignition.

- Disconnect the connectors from the glow plugs.

- Remove assemblies that are in the way, such as the upper and lower intake manifolds, before removal.

- Loosen the glow plugs using (3220).

Installation is performed in the reverse of removal, noting the following:

- Install the glow plugs in the cylinder head by hand using (3220).

- Tighten the glow plugs to 15 Nm.
