Front Brake Cable






Front Brake Cable

Removing

- Remove the driver side trim panel.

- Remove the center console.

- Remove the sill panel trim.

- Remove the plastic cover from the parking brake lever.

- Press the spring plate for the release spring - arrow A - downward in order to compress the spring for the cable compensation - arrow B -.





- Hold the spring - arrow B - compressed.

- Secure the compressed spring by sliding a drill bit - arrow - through the holes of the foot operated parking brake lever and through the linked cable mounting.





- Unhook the brake cable - A - from the cable mounting - 1 - of the foot operated parking brake lever.





- Unclip the cable sleeve - 2 - from the mount.

- Remove the clip - 1 - and unhook the brake cable from the cable mounting.





- Unclip the cable sleeve - 2 - from the mount.

- Lift the carpet and pull out the front brake cable.

Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove the transport protection device (drill bit) from the foot operated parking brake lever.

There will be an automatic length compensation of the brake cable caused by the spring.
