Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) Connecting and Selecting Functions

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing, and Information System (VAS 5051) or Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052)

Diagnostic Cable, 3 m with Power Supply (VAS 5051/1) or Diagnostic Cable, 5 m without Power Supply (VAS 5051/3)


Measurement and testing procedures should be performed as follow to avoid risk of accident:

Only the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051 A) or the vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) may be used to read out measured value blocks. The device must always be secured on rear side and operated from there by a second person.

- Connect the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) or vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) - 1 - using the diagnostic cable (VAS 5051/1) or (VAS 5051/3) - 2 - to the diagnostic connection with the ignition off.






Installed location: Left front footwell.

- Turn on the tester - arrow -.






The tester is ready to be used when it displays a picture (photograph) of a vehicle.

Starting the "Guided Fault Finding":

- Turn on the ignition.

- Press the "Guided Fault Finding" button on the screen.

- Then select the following one after the other:

Brand

Type

Model year

Version

Engine code

- Confirm the entered data.

Wait for the tester to check all the control modules in the vehicle.

- Press the Go to button and select "function/component selection".

Follow the displays on the screen to start the desired functions.
