Haldex Clutch, Checking for Proper Functioning

• Check the Haldex clutch during a test drive using the vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052).

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052)

Checking the Function


Measurement and testing procedures should be performed as follow to avoid risk of accident:

• The vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051 A) or the vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) is used to read out measured value blocks. The device must always be secured on the rear seat and operated from there by a second person.

- Connect the vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052).

- On the display select "suspension (repair group 01; 40-49)" off.

- Select "AWD with Haldex clutch (4th generation)" on the display.

- Select "01 - system capable of on board diagnostics" on the display.

- Select "functions" on the display.

- Select "output diagnostic test mode" on the display.

- Follow the instructions on the tester.
