Torque Converter, Installing

- Press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop.

- Lightly press the torque converter toward the transmission and turn it until the slots - arrow - on torque converter hub engage in the drive lugs on transmission fluid pump gear and the torque converter slides noticeably inward.






The converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn is by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission.


The converter and transmission fluid pump will get damaged if the converter is installed incorrectly and force is used to attach the transmission to the engine.
