Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Robinair A/C Service Unit (ROB 134APF) or succeeding model.

Removing

- Extract refrigerant using A/C service station (VAS 6007A) , only then open the refrigerant circuit. See notes, refer to => [ Refrigerant Circuit Components ] Refrigerant Circuit Components.

- Remove the cooling module from the holder and tilt towards the rear.

- Loosen the transmission fluid cooler and lay it on its side (vehicle specific).

- Remove the Safety Warning label on the cap.

- Remove the cap.


There is a danger of ice-up.

Refrigerant and refrigerant oil will leak out if the refrigerant circuit has not been evacuated.

Refrigerant must be extracted before opening the refrigerant circuit. If the refrigerant circuit is not opened within 10 minutes after extracting it, pressure may build up in the circuit again. Extract refrigerant once more.

- Remove the seeger ring - arrow - and remove the coolant reservoir cap - 1 -, with the help of a M12, bolt from the condenser - 2 -.






- Remove the dryer bag using a commercially available pick-up tool in the- direction of arrow - from the condenser.






- Make a 2 mm welding wire with the following dimensions:






a 380 mm (15 inches)
b maximum 7 mm (0.25 in.)
c maximum 6 mm (0.25 in.)

Hook the welding wire to the strainer exactly as illustrated to prevent damaging the condenser.






- Carefully remove the filter (strainer) - 2 - from the condenser with the welding wire - 1 -.

Installing

- Install the new strainer in the condenser.

- Guide the dryer bag into the condenser.

Perform remaining installation operations in reverse order of removal.
