Rear Parking Aid Control Module (J446)
Removing:
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove the right luggage compartment trim panel.
- Disengage and disconnect harness connector - 2 -.
- Loosen both rivets - arrows - and remove the Parking Aid Control Module - 1 -.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.
Rear Parking Aid Warning Buzzer (H15)
The Rear Parking Aid Warning Buzzer is located behind the right trim panel.
Removing:
- Remove right side panel trim.
- Disengage and disconnect harness connector - 1 -.
- Remove the rivets - arrows - and remove the Rear Parking Aid Warning Buzzer - 1 -.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal.
Rear Parking Aid Sensors
The following 4 sensors are located in rear bumper cover:
• Left Rear Parking Aid Sensor (G203)
• Left Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor (G334)
• Right rear inner parking assistance sensor (G335 )
• Right Rear Parking Aid Sensor (G206)
• Removal and installation of the rear parking aid sensors is performed the same way for all sensors.
Removing:
CAUTION!
Always follow the sensor removal sequence.
Otherwise, the sensor may be damaged. Hairline cracks which lead to sensor failure can develop if too much force is used on the sensor.
First remove the sensor from the bracket and then disconnect the sensor connectors.
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- Remove the rear bumper cover.
- Press the tabs - arrows - on the sensor holder - 1 - outward and pull the sensor - 2 - out with the wires still connected.
• When removing the sensor, make sure that the coupling ring (black silicone ring) remains on the sensor head and not in the holder or that it gets lost.
• Do not bend the coupling ring.
- Unlatch and disconnect the harness connector - 2 - and remove the sensor - 1 -.
Installing:
CAUTION!
A damaged coupling ring can cause malfunctions.
Do not bend the coupling ring.
Replace damaged coupling rings.
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• When installing the sensor, make sure the coupling ring is correctly mounted on the sensor head and that it does not fall off or become jammed when inserting into the sensor holder.
• Both locking mechanisms on the sensor mount must audibly engage when installing the sensor.
- Make sure the sensor is seated correctly in the bracket after installing. Dimension - a - for the circular gap between the sensor head and bumper cover must be even all around on the outer side of the bumper cover.
