Selector Mechanism Overview, through 02.2009
Shift the selector lever into the "P" position and engage the parking brake before working with the engine running.
1 Shift Handle with Cover
• Do not remove the handle if not necessary. For emergency release, only the cover must be removed. Refer to => [ Shift Handle with Cover ] Shift Handle with Cover.
• Pull the button past its pressure point before removing the handle. Secure the button with a tie wrap or tape. This prevents the button from being pressed into the handle unintentionally.
• If the button is pushed in when the handle is removed:
- Just before installing, pull out the button beyond the press point (sense this by touch).
2 Shift Mechanism with Selector Lever

3 Bolt with Spring, 3 Nm
4 Pin
• Removing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.2009 ] Selector Lever Cable, through 02.2009.
• Do not grease.
5 Securing Plate
• Always replace after removing.
6 Nut, 9 Nm
• Quantity: 4.
7 Selector Housing
• With seal
8 Selector Lever Cable
• Do not grease the cable.
