Selector Lever and Shift Mechanism with Cable, from 03.2009
Short Description
The selector mechanism and the cable cannot be separated from each other. Both are removed at the same time. It may be necessary to create some open space in the engine compartment. Many times it is necessary to remove the air filter.
In the vehicle interior, it may be necessary to remove the center console.
• After installation, the cable must be checked for ease of movement and must be adjusted.
- Place the selector lever in the "P" position.
- Remove the selector lever handle. Refer to => [ Shift Handle with Cover ] Shift Handle with Cover.
- Remove the center console.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
Tightening specification: 8 Nm.
- Remove securing plate.
- Always replace the securing plate on the selector lever cable.
- Remove the cable from the ball head.
- In order to remove the cable and/or selector mechanism, the heat shield and if necessary exhaust system components must now be removed.
- Remove the heat shield.
- Remove the selector mechanism.
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
- Put the vehicle and the transmission in "P" before installing the cable.
- Check the cable before installing the ball head. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Checking, through 02.2009 ] Testing and Inspection.
- Install the exhaust system components.
- Install the heat shield.
- Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Adjusting, through 02.2009 ] Adjustments.
