Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair






Climatronic Temperature Sensors

=> [ Left Footwell Vent ]

=> [ Right Footwell Vent ]

=> [ Evaporator Vent ]

=> [ Left and Right Vent ]

Left Footwell Vent

Removing

- Remove the instrument panel.





- Remove the bolts - 1 - and - 3 -(9 ± 1.3 Nm).

- Remove bracket - 2 -.

- Disconnect connector at Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261) - 1 -.





- Rotate Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor ( G261) - 1 - 90° and remove from housing.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

Right Footwell Vent

Removing

For the sake of illustration, Right Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G262) is depicted with instrument panel removed. Instrument panel must not be removed for installation.

- Remove glove compartment.





- Disconnect connector at Right Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G262) - 1 -.

- Rotate Right Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor ( G262) - 1 - 90° and remove it from housing.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

Evaporator Vent

Removing

- Remove the right footwell trim - 1 -.





- Remove connector on Evaporator Temperature Sensor (G308) or Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) - 1 -.





- Rotate Evaporator Temperature Sensor (G308) or Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) in - direction of arrow - and remove.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

Left and Right Vent

Removal of sensors on both sides is identical, only the sides are reversed.

- Remove cover at left or right on instrument panel





- Disconnect connector - 1 - from vent temperature sensor - 2 -.

- Rotate vent temperature sensor - 2 -, rotate 90° - in direction of arrow - and remove from instrument panel.
