Hood Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Service and Repair

Front Hood Switch

• The Golf does not have engine compartment lighting.

Removing

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Remove radiator grille.

- Disconnect harness connector in the vicinity of the right headlamp - arrow -.





- Remove screws - 1 - and unclip wiring bracket - 2 -.





- Remove lid lock from lock carrier.

• Bowden cable may remain connected to the lid lock.

- Disengage retaining tab - 1 - and slide Front Hood Switch (F266) in - direction of arrow -.





- Remove contact switch from lid lock.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
