Convertible Top Open Lock Switch
Interior Lamps and Switches
• When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim panels), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool (plastic sedge, screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.
Convertible Top Open Lock Switch
Removing and installing the Left Convertible Top Open Lock Switch (F323),the Left Convertible Top Closed Lock Switch (F324), the Right Convertible Top Open Lock Switch (F325) and the Right Convertible Top Closed Lock Switch (F326) are identical.
CAUTION!
• Turn off the ignition and all electrical components.
• Remove the key.
• When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409), screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.
Removing
- Remove the side trim.
• It is not necessary to remove the belt.
- Disconnect electrical connection - 1 -.
- Mark the position of the Left Convertible Top Closed Lock Switch (F324) / right (F326) - 3 - and of the Left Convertible Top Open Lock Switch (F323) /Right Convertible Top Open Lock Switch (F325) - 2 - first with a scriber and then with a marker (Edding 780) - arrows -.
- Remove the screws - 4 - and remove the wire guide from the latch in the lowered top.
Tightening specification: 2 Nm
- Open the caps on the connector housing in direction of - arrow -.
- Remove the connectors from the connector housing using the (VAS 1978/35-4) - 1 -.
Left Connector

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
Pay close attention to the position of the convertible top latch switches and the position of the connectors inside the connector housing.
