Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
EVAP Canister
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)
Removing
- Read the safety precautions before beginning work. Refer to --> [ Safety Precautions ] Safety Precautions.
- Observe the rules for cleanliness. Refer to --> [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
- Remove the cover under the spare tire wheel well - arrows -.
- Disconnect the connection line - 1 -.
- Disconnect the vent lines - 2 and 3 -.
• Press the securing ring to disengage the lines.
- Using a screwdriver, release the retaining tab - A - and remove the EVAP canister.
Installing
• Tightening specifications, refer to --> [ EVAP System Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.
Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:
• The vent and connection lines - 1 through 3 - must engage audibly.
