Clutch End Cover, Installing

Clutch End Cover, Installing

Cover and securing ring must always be replaced. Never install a new cover using a hammer and never oil the center seal or touch with the hand!

CAUTION!
Do not touch a new cover in the center hole. Cover must not be touched, oiled or come into contact with other substances. Leaks would result from this.

- Only hold cover in hand as illustrated!

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Guide Sleeve (T10302)

- Clean Guide Sleeve (T10302) " before using, and do not use any scratched sleeves"

New cover in area of center seal, must be free of oil and dry!

- Clean end of clutch shaft if necessary.

Do not apply adhesive to inside of cover.

- If this is done, carefully remove it!

Only coat outer edge of seal with DSG oil.

- Place sleeve on a level surface.

CAUTION!
Handle with care. Any kind of blow, even very light ones on the cover will certainly lead to leaks.

It is possible to carefully pry cover into its place using a screwdriver- arrow -, until new securing ring can be installed.

- Install new securing ring.
