Clutch Switch: Service and Repair






Clutch Position Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose clamps up to 25 mm dia. (3094)

Removing

Before disconnecting the battery, retrieve the coding for radio devices with anti-theft coding.

Disconnect battery ground (GND) cable with ignition switched off.

When reconnecting battery

Lubricate the various bearing and contact surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).

- Check whether a coded radio is installed. If this is the case obtain anti-theft coding.

- Disconnect battery ground (GND) cable with ignition switched off.

- Remove battery

During the following procedures, make sure that brake fluid does not leak onto the longitudinal member or the transmission. If this does occur, these areas must be cleaned thoroughly.

- Place a lint free cloth under master cylinder.

- Use Hose clamps (3094) to clamp supply hose to master cylinder.





- Release securing clip - 2 - using a screwdriver and pull out of master cylinder up to stop.





- Disconnect hose/line assembly - 1 - from master cylinder and plug it.

- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 4 -.

- Unclip clutch position sensor (G476) at master cylinder - arrow - and remove.

Disregard item - 3 -.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Always replace seals.

Replace hose clamps.

- Press in hose/line assembly - 1 - with new O-ring - 2 - into connection of master cylinder - 4 - until securing clip - 3 - engages audibly.





- Check by pulling hose/line assembly.

- Bleed clutch system --> [ Clutch System Bleeding ] Clutch System Bleeding.

- Install battery carrier and battery.

- Connect battery and follow work procedures after connecting battery.
