Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair






Climatronic Temperature Sensors

--> [ Left Footwell Vent ]

--> [ Right Footwell Vent ]

--> [ Evaporator ]

--> [ Vent ]

Left Footwell Vent

Removing

CAUTION!
Switch off all electrical consumers.

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

- Remove instrument panel

- Remove screws --> [ (item 10) Screws ] Climatronic Heating and A/C Unit from bracket --> [ 11 Bracket ] Climatronic Heating and A/C Unit.

- Disconnect electrical connection at sensor - 1 -.





- Press bracket --> [ 11 Bracket ] Climatronic Heating and A/C Unit slightly toward left, rotate sensor - 1 - 90° and remove from housing.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

Right Footwell Vent

Removing

CAUTION!
Switch off all electrical consumers.

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

Right Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G262) is depicted with instrument panel removed. It is not necessary to remove instrument panel.

- Remove glove compartment.

- Disconnect electrical connection at sensor - 1 -.





- Rotate sensor - 1 - 90° and remove from housing.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

Evaporator

Removing

CAUTION!
Switch off all electrical consumers.

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

- Remove front passenger's footwell cover - 1 -.





- Disconnect electrical connection at sensor - 1 -.





- Rotate sensor in direction of - arrow - and remove.

Vent

Removing

CAUTION!
Switch off all electrical consumers.

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

Removal of sensors on both sides is identical, only the sides are reversed.

- Remove cover at left or right on instrument panel

- Disconnect electrical connection - 1 - from sensor - 2 -.





- Rotate sensor - 2 - 90° in direction of - arrow - and remove from instrument panel.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
