Parking Assist Distance Sensor: Service and Repair






Parking Aid


Rear Parking Aid Sensors

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Release tool (T10345)

Sensors in the rear bumper cover:

Left Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G204)

Left Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor (G334)

Right Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor (G335)

Right Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G205)

Due to different software versions, different sensor names may be displayed in the first Parking Aid Control Module (J446) software version. If this is the case, the following allocation applies:

Left Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G204) is Left Rear Parking Aid Sensor (G203)

Left Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor (G334) is Left Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G204)

Right Rear Inner Parking Aid Sensor (G335) is Right Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G205)

Right Rear Center Parking Aid Sensor (G205) is Right Rear Parking Aid Sensor (G206)

Removal and installation of parking aid sensor is performed in the same way for all sensors and is only described for one sensor in the following.

CAUTION!
Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

Remove ignition key.

Removing

- Remove the rear bumper cover.

- Disengage retaining tabs - arrows - with ( T10345) and remove sensor with connector connected from bumper cover.





- Disconnect the connector - arrow - in removed condition.





Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
