Rear Side Airbag

• Removal and installation is described for the right-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the left-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for working on airbags. Refer to --> [ Airbag Safety Precautions ] Technician Safety Information.

- Disconnect vehicle battery.

- Remove side upholstery with side airbag - 1 -. Refer to --> [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag ] Rear Seats.

- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (9 Nm).

• Bolts are microencapsulated and must be replaced after each loosening.

• Before installing the new bolts, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

- Remove connector coupling of rear side airbag - 3 - from mount in side upholstery - 1 -.

- Remove rear side airbag - 3 - from side upholstery.





Installing

To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

- Switch on ignition.

CAUTION!
Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

- Connect vehicle battery..
