Front Seat Cushion, Cover and Upholstery

• Removal and installation of the components is described for the left-hand seat. The same instructions apply for removal and installation of components for right seat.

Removing

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove front seat. Refer to --> [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.

- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove right trim on seat.

Vehicles with manual seat adjustment

- Remove left trim on seat.

- Remove bracket and front seat operating lever. Refer to --> [ Front Seat Bracket and Operating Lever ] Front Seat Bracket and Operating Lever.

Vehicles with power backrest adjustment on the driver seat

- Remove right trim on seat. Refer to --> [ Right Seat Trim Panel with Power Lumbar Adjustment ] Right Seat Trim Panel With Power Lumbar Adjustment.

- Remove the bracket and the lever on the power front seat backrest adjustment. Refer to --> [ Power Lumbar Support Adjustment Bracket and Lever ] Power Lumbar Support Adjustment Bracket and Lever.

Vehicles with electric seat adjustment

- Remove left power seat trim. Refer to --> [ Power Seat Trim, Left ] Power Seat Trim, Left.

- Remove retainer and power seat bracket. Refer to --> [ Retainer and Power Seat Bracket ] Retainer and Power Seat Bracket.

All vehicles

- If present, remove mount for seat drawer. Refer to --> [ Seat Drawer Mount ] Seat Drawer Mount.

- Remove front seat backrest. Refer to --> [ Front Seat Backrest ] Front Seat Backrest.

- Remove profile - 1 - from receptacle.

- Disengage retaining straps - 2 - from seat on both sides.

- Disengage profiles - 3 - from mounts on both sides of seat.

- Disengage profile - 4 - from mount on front side of seat.

- Roll cover upward on outer sides around circumference.





- Using a small screwdriver, unclip profiles - 1 - for cover out of mounts - 2 - in upholstery.

- In vehicles with seat heater, disconnect wiring harness - 3 - from seat frame.

Vehicles with seat occupied recognition

- Remove cover - 4 - from upholstery - 5 - and from seat frame - 6 -.

- Remove front seat cushion upholstery - 5 - with components for seat occupied recognition. Refer to --> [ Seat Occupied Recognition System Repair Set, with Manual Seat Adjustment ] Removal and Replacement.

CAUTION!
Upholstery of front seat cushion, mat for seat occupied recognition, pressure hose, Seat Occupied Recognition Pressure Sensor (G452) and Seat Occupied Recognition Control Module (J706) must not be separated.

Vehicles without seat occupied recognition

- Remove the cover - 4 - and upholstery - 5 - from the seat frame - 6 -.





Installing

To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
