Front Seat Belts

• Removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle is described here. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing


Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners. Refer to => [ Belt Tensioner Safety Precautions ] Belt Tensioner Safety Precautions.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat

- Remove side trim. Refer to => [ Side Trim ] Side Trim

- Remove the two screws - 8 - and remove seat belt guide - 9 - from body.


Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly touching the body or the door striker or pin.

- Disconnect wiring harness - 5 - and remove screw - 6 -.

- Remove belt inertia wheels - 7 - from body.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Connect the battery.
