Selector Mechanism Overview

As of 11 September 2009 the Tiguan will have an revised selector mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Overview, from 11 September 2009 ] Selector Mechanism Overview, from 11 September 2009.

Move the selector lever into the "P" position and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.






1 Selector Handle with Cover

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Shift Lever Handle.

• Manual release, refer to => [ Selector Lever Manual Release ] Procedures.

2 Selector Mechanism with Selector Lever

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism with Lever ] Shift Mechanism with Lever.

3 Spring wit Bolt

• 3 Nm

4 Pin

• Do not lubricate.

5 Retainer Plate

• Always replace after removing.

6 Nut

• 9 Nm

• Quantity: 4

7 Selector Housing

• With a seal.

8 Selector Lever Cable

• Do not grease the cable.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Shift Lever Cable.

• Checking, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.

9 Nut

• 8 Nm
