Right Flange Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Thrust Piece (T10105)

Removing

- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to one of the following:

Passat and Tiguan

Passat CC and CC

- Mark the location of the ball joint to lower control arm nuts - arrows -.






Use these locations for installation.

- Remove the lower control arm from the ball joint studs.

- Place the drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208) below.

- Remove the drive axle from the transmission.

- Secure the right drive axle up, as high as possible to the strut.






- Pry out the seal being careful not to damage the shaft inside the transmission.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

- Coat the outer circumference and the sealing lip of the oil seal with transmission fluid.

- Install the seal all the way in using the thrust piece (T10105). Be careful not to tilt it.

- Install the drive axle.

- Check the transmission fluid level, add fluid if necessary. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Adding ] Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Adding.

- Install the noise insulation. Refer to one of the following:
