High Pressure Pump Chain Sprocket






High Pressure Pump Chain Sprocket

Removing

- Remove the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

- Remove intake camshaft adjuster bolt - 1 - and adjuster. Refer to => [ Camshaft Adjuster with Timing Chain, Installing ] Camshaft Adjuster with Timing Chain, Installing.






- Remove the guide rail bolt - 3 -.

- Remove the timing chain from the drive chain sprocket.

- Pull out vacuum pump driveshaft - 4 - and remove the chain sprocket - 6 -.

Installing






Coat the front sides of the chain sprocket and the driveshaft with molypaste lubricating paste (G 052 723 A2).

- Install the chain sprocket. The notch - arrow - must face upward.

- Coat the vacuum pump driveshaft with molypaste lubricating paste (G 052 723 A2) and install it. The driveshaft fits only in one position.

- Secure the high pressure pump chain sprocket position using the adjustment tool (T10363). The mark - A - on the high pressure pump drive sprocket must be at the top.






- Mount the timing chain on the chain sprocket. Make sure the chain lies "taut" on the guide rail.

- Install and tighten the guide rail bolt - arrow - to 23 Nm.






- Install the camshaft adjuster. Refer to => [ Camshaft Adjuster with Timing Chain, Installing ] Camshaft Adjuster with Timing Chain, Installing.

- Install the high pressure pump. Refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.
