Vibration Damper
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Counterhold Tool (T10172)
Removing
- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.
- Secure the vibration damper using the counterhold tool (T10172).
- Loosen the bolts and remove the vibration damper from the crankshaft.
Installing
Check the rubber connection between the inner ring and the outer ring of the vibration damper for cracks and flaking. If rubber connection damage is identified, the vibration damper must be replaced.
- Replace the vibration damper bolts.
- Position the vibration damper and tighten the new bolts hand tight.
- Secure the vibration damper using the counterhold tool (T10172).
- Tighten the bolts to 60 Nm + an additional 180° (1/2) turn.
- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.
