Selector Mechanism Overview, through 02.09
Move the selector lever into the "P" position and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.
1 Selector Handle with Cover
• Do not remove the handle unnecessarily. For emergency release, only the cover needs the be removed. Refer to => [ Selector Lever, Manual Release ] Procedures.
• Pull the button past its pressure point before removing the handle. Secure the button with a tie strap or tape. This prevents the button from being pushed back into the handle accidentally.
• If the button is pushed in:
- Just before installing, pull the button out beyond the press point (sense this by touch).
2 Selector Mechanism with Selector Lever.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism with Lever, through 02.09 ] Selector Mechanism with Lever, through 02.09.
3 Bolt with Spring
• 3 Nm
4 Pin
• Removing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.09 ] Service and Repair.
• Do not lubricate.
5 Retainer
• Always replace after removing.
6 Nut
• 9 Nm
• Quantity: 4
7 Selector Housing
• With seal.
8 Selector Lever Cable
• Do not grease the cable.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, through 02.09 ] Service and Repair.
• Checking, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.
• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
