Tip:
If the vehicle is equipped with RNS-510, it may have a "phone" or "mute" button depending on the build date. How the button operates is dependant on the coding of the Bluetooth module.
MY 2009 Passat Sedan / Wagon Functionality
MY 2009 Passats equipped with 8 button steering wheel controls may experience a lack of functionality for voice recognition and phone book download in the MFI. Please contact the Volkswagen Technical Assistance for information.

Coding Table
Tip:
Coding will involve changing the second to last digit of the short coding.
Example: To change from English to French (Canada). The coding will change from 1077 to 1087.
Procedure
^ Determine coding based on table above
^ Connect VAS tester
^ Select Vehicle Self-Diagnosis
^ Select On Board Diagnostics (OBD)
^ Select 77 Telephone
^ Select 007 Coding (Service $1A)
^ Enter the code and select "Q" to confirm
^ Exit Vehicle Self-Diagnosis
^ Confirm operation of component
