Service
Requirements:
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show this RVUTB code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair. Claims will not be paid for work performed on vehicles not showing the RVUTB code open.
^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

^ Remove engine cover (Figure 1).
^ Identify area of rail and production numbers (Figure 2).
^ Record rail number (Figure 3) and production time stamp (Figure 4) of intake manifold.
^ Install engine cover.
--> If the arrow of the production time stamp is pointing to the number 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 no further action is required; inspection complete. Install engine cover.
--> If the arrow of the production time stamp is pointing to the number 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 install engine cover and go to Continue Testing.
Continue Testing
^ Close hood, connect VAS 5051/5052 tester and start engine.
^ Navigate VAS 505X tester to Vehicle Self Diagnosis.
^ Select On Board Diagnostics OBD.
^ Select 01 Engine Electronics.
^ Select 004 DTC Memory Content.
^ Select 004.01 Check DTC Memory.
--> If DTC P2015 "Sensor for Intake Manifold Flap Position" is stored, create a VTA ticket and call the Volkswagen Dealer Technical Helpline.
--> If no DTC P2015 is found, go to Continue Testing (HOT) below.
Continue Testing (HOT)
^ Allow vehicle to idle minimum 1 hour with AC switched OFF inside the shop.
^ Road test vehicle 1 mile in first gear (Tiptronic), rpm's minimum 4500, with many engine load changes.
NOTE:
Obey all local posted speed limits.
DO NOT switch ignition OFF upon return from road test.
^ Connect VAS tester upon return from road test.
^ Navigate VAS 505X tester to Vehicle Self Diagnosis.
^ Select On Board Diagnostics OBD.
^ Select 01 Engine Electronics.
^ Select 004 DTC Memory Content.
^ Select 004.01 Check DTC Memory.
--> If DTC P2015 "Sensor for Intake Manifold Flap Position" is stored, create a VTA ticket and call the Volkswagen Dealer Technical Helpline.
--> If no DTC P2015 was found, perform IMRC Adaptation below.
IMRC Adaptation
^ Select 01 Engine Electronics.
^ Select 06 Basic Settings.
^ Select MVB 142.
^ Select Activate.
--> If adaption has an error, create a VTA ticket and call the Volkswagen Dealer Technical Helpline.
--> If adaptation is successful, no further action is required.
Warranty
Claim Entry Procedure
Immediately upon completion of the repair work, enter the correct code listed below. Claims will only be paid for vehicles that show this RVUTB open in ElsaWeb on the day of repair. To help ensure prompt and proper payment, attach the screen print to the repair order.
Additional Actions
Some of the affected vehicles may be involved in additional actions, recalls or service campaigns. Please check ElsaWeb so that any additional required work can be done simultaneously.

Required Customer Notification
