Rear Side Airbag, 4 Door

NOTE: Removal and installation is described for the right-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the left-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.

- Disconnect vehicle battery
- Remove seat bench .
- Remove side upholstery with side airbag, 4-door, - 1 -.
- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (9 Nm).

NOTE:
- The bolts are microencapsulated and must therefore be replaced after every removal.
- Before installing the new bolts, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

- Remove rear side airbag connector coupling - 3 - from mount in side upholstery - 1 -.







- Remove rear side airbag - 3 - from side upholstery.







Installing

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
- Switch on ignition.

CAUTION: Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

- Connect vehicle battery .
