Luggage Compartment Cover Side Storage Compartment
• Removal and installation is described for the right side of the vehicle. Removing and installing on the left side is identical.
Removal
- Switch off ignition.
2-door vehicles
- Remove upper B-pillar trim. Belt anchor rail does not need to be removed from front seat belt. Refer to => [ Upper B-pillar Trim ] Pillar and Side Trim
- Remove seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Rear Seats.
- Remove backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest ] Rear Seats
- Remove side trim. Refer to => [ Side Trim, 2-door ] Pillar and Side Trim
4-door vehicles through 06.2005
- Remove seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Rear Seats.
- Remove 4-door side upholstery:
• with rear side airbags: => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag, 4-door ] Rear Seats
• without rear side airbags: => [ Side Upholstery, 4-door ] Rear Seats
- Wheel housing trim, 4-door, removing. Refer to => [ Wheel Housing Trim, 4-door ] Service and Repair
4-door vehicles with rear side airbag, from 06.2005
- Remove 4-door side upholstery:
• with rear side airbags: => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag, 4-door ] Rear Seats

4-door vehicles without rear side airbag, from 06.2005

All vehicles
- Remove lock carrier cover from catches in compartment transition area.
- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - (1.5 Nm).
- Remove compartment - 3 - from mounts.
- Depending on vehicle equipment, disconnect wiring harnesses from compartment.
Installation
- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
• Before installing, check securing clips for damage and replace if necessary.
