Alarm Horn: Service and Repair

Alarm Horn

Alarm Horn is located at right on A-pillar in fender.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Drill (VAS 5134)

• Drill bit dia. 6 mm

• Pop rivet pliers (VAS 5072)

• To remove the alarm horn, anti-theft alarm system must be deactivated. Refer to=> [ Antitheft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating, through 05.06 ] .

Removing

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Remove right front wheel housing liner

- Using drill (VAS 5134) and a spiral bore dia. 6 mm, drill out both pop rivets - arrows -.





- Remove Alarm Horn (H12) - 1 - in - direction of arrow - from body cutout.





- Disconnect connector - 2 -.

Installing

• Remove all metal shavings through the drilled holes.

- Perform the required corrosion protection measures.

- Connect harness connector to Alarm Horn.

- Guide clip - 2 - for Alarm Horn - 3 - into body cutout - 1 -.





- Secure Alarm Horn using pop rivet pliers (VAS 5072).
