Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051, Connecting and Selecting Function, 09G, 6 Speed A/T OBD

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051
^ Diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3

CAUTION!
^ When performing a road test the test and measuring units must be secured on the rear seat.
^ During the road test only one person must operate these units.






- Connect tester VAS5051 to Data Link Connector (DLC) using diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3 with ignition switched off.





- Switch tester on (arrow).

The tester is operationally ready when a picture (photograph) of a vehicle appears on the display.

- Switch ignition on.
- Touch key on screen for: Guided Fault Finding.
- Select one after another:
^ Brand
^ Model
^ Model year
^ Variant
^ Engine code
- Confirm data as entered:

Note:
^ Wait until the tester has read all the available control modules.

- Using "Go to" key, select "Function/component selection"
- Follow instructions on screen to start functions desired.

The following description is for displays and VAG1551 printouts:
- Switch ignition on.
- Operate brake pedal once.
- Switch on printer with Print key (indicator lamp in key lights up).
- Press key 1 for "Rapid data transfer" mode.

Enter address word XX

- Press keys 0 and 2. ("02" enters address word "transmission electronics").

- Confirm entry with Q key.

The control module identification, coding and the Dealership number are shown on the VAG1551 display.

Control Module Identification

Note:
^ Depending upon build level (program level) the control module can indicate a different control module identification from that shown in the example. Allocate control module.
^ 09G927750N: Part number
^ AQ 250 6F: 6-speed automatic transmission 09G
^ 0250: EPROM (program level)
^ Coding 00008: Coding
^ WSC 00000: Dealership code of VAG1551 with which the last coding was performed.

Indicated on display

Control module does not answer! HELP

- By pressing HELP key a list of possible fault causes is printed out.
- After eliminating possible causes of faults, again enter address word 02 for "transmission electronics" and confirm.

If "Control module does not answer!" again appears:

Control module does not answer! HELP

- Check control module voltage supply.
- Perform test step 1.
- Check wiring connections to diagnostic sockets
- Refer to DTC table!
- Press arrow right key.

Select function XX

After the HELP key is pressed, a list of the possible functions is printed out.
