Airbag System DTC Memory, Checking, Function 02

- Connecting VAG1551 or VAS5051 - Scan Tool, Connecting and initiating On Board Diagnosis (OBD) - Airbag OBD, Initiating Program.
- Switch on printer with Print button (warning lamp in button lights up) if using VAG1551 or print via the print menu when using VAS5051, if necessary.
- Press buttons 0 and 2. (Function "Interrogate Fault memory" is selected with 02).

Indicated on display:

02 - Interrogate fault memory

- Confirm entry with Q button.

The number of stored malfunctions appears in the display.

X malfunctions recognized.

The stored malfunctions will be displayed and printed out one after the other.
- Repair malfunction(s) with aid of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table - Airbag System DTC Table.

If "No fault recognized" is displayed the program will return to the initial position after pressing the arrowright button.

No fault detected: arrowright

If something else is displayed:

Refer to Scan tool operating instructions
- End output (function 06).
- Switch off ignition and disconnect diagnostic connection.

NOTE:
- If a malfunction is recognized:
- 1. Repair malfunction
- 2. Erase DTC memory (function 05)
- 3. Interrogate DTC memory again (function 02).

DTC Memory, Erasing
- Connecting VAG1551 or VAS5051 - Scan Tool, Connecting and initiating On Board Diagnosis (OBD) - Airbag OBD, Initiating Program.
- Switch on printer with Print button (warning lamp in button lights up) if using VAG1551 or print via the print menu when using VAS5051, if necessary.

Prerequisites:
- Malfunction is repaired
- DTC memory checked again

- Press buttons 0 and 5 (the function "Erase fault memory" is entered with 05).

Indicated on display:

- Confirm entry with Q button.

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer arrowright
Fault memory is erased.

Select function XX

NOTE:
- If this appears in the display, the test sequence has malfunctioned.

WARNING: Fault memory was not interrogated

- Adhere exactly to test sequence: first of all interrogate DTC memory, then erase memory.

Output, Ending
- Press buttons 0 and 6 to end the output.
