Heating and Ventilation System Assembly Overview

CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Disconnect negative (-) battery terminal.
- When disconnecting and reconnecting battery terminals, observe all applicable Notes and torque specifications, as well as instructions on performing OBD program and electrical system function checks.








1 - Heating and ventilation controls
- With Fresh Air Blower Switch E9 and Fresh Air Blower/Recirculated Air Switch E184
- Installing and adjusting cables
2 - Dust and pollen filter
3 - Side window air outlet
4 - Side air outlets
5 - Center air outlet console
6 - Instrument panel cross member
7 - Fresh/Recirculating Air Door Motor V154
8 - Fresh Air Blower V2
9 - Fresh Air Blower Series Resistor With Fuse N24
- First remove Fresh Air Blower V2
10 - Intermediate duct
11 - Cables
12 - Rear footwell air outlet duct
13 - Gasket
14 - Connecting duct
- With front footwell air outlet
15 - Heating and ventilation unit
- Removing:
- Remove instrument panel
- Carefully pinch off both coolant hoses to heater core and disconnect hoses.
- Loosen instrument panel cross member
- Remove unit
16 - Heater core
- Always use new coolant after replacement
17 - Heater core/bulkhead seal
- Note installation position
18 - Defroster duct
- Replacing:
- Remove instrument panel
- Loosen instrument panel cross member
19 - Instrument panel
20 - Center air outlet duct
21 - Defroster air outlet panel
