Convertible Top Switch: Service and Repair



Convertible Top Lock Switches

Removing
- Remove side trim.

NOTE: The removal of the seat belt is not necessary, it is possible to replace the lock switches just putting aside the side trim.

- Disconnect connector - 1 -.
- First with a tearing needle and then with a marker (Edding 780), mark the position - arrows - of the Left Convertible Top Closed Lock Switch F324 / right F326 - 3 - and the Left Convertible Top Open Lock Switch F323 / right F325 - 2 -.
- Remove bolts T-20 - 4 - and release the lock switches harness from rear convertible top Latch.
2.20 Nm ± 0.2 Nm










- Open the sealing caps - in arrow direction - on the electrical connector.







- With the help of a Release tool set VAS 1978/35-4 - 1 -, remove the wires out the electrical connector.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, observing the following notes:

The original position of the switches on the convertible top latch and the position of the wires in the connector.

4 - E. SL -Z (Gray/ Violet)
5 - Ground (Brown)
6 - Ground (Brown)

Multi-Pin Connector, Right
1 - A. SR + (Red)
2 - A. SR - (Red/ Brown)
3 - E. SR -A (Gray/ Brown)
4 - E. SR -Z (Gray/ Green)
5 - Ground (Brown)
6 - Ground (Brown)
7 - Free
8 - Free
