Drive Axle Assembly Overview, with Mounted CV Joint VL107






1 Outer Constant Velocity Joint

Replace only as complete unit.

Removal, refer to => [ Removing outer constant velocity
joint ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107.

Installing: Drive onto shaft until impact using plastic hammer

Checking, refer to => [ Outer CV Joint, Checking ] Outer CV Joint, Checking.

2 Bolt, 70 Nm + 90°

Always replace after removal.

Vehicle must not be standing on its wheels when loosening or tightening.

3 Securing Ring

Always replace after removal.

Insert in shaft groove.

4 Thrust Washer

Installed position, refer to => [ Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107 ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107.

5 Dished Washer

Installed position, refer to => [ Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107 ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107

6 Clamp

Always replace after removal.

Tensioning, refer to => [ Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107 ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107

7 Protective Boot

Check for tears and scuffing.

Material: Hytrel (Polyelastomer).

8 Clamp

Always replace after removal.

Tensioning, refer to => [ Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107 ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107

9 Drive Axle

10 Clamp

Always replace after removal.

Tensioning, refer to => [ Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107 ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107

11 CV Joint Protective Boot

Material: Hytrel (Polyelastomer).

Without ventilation bore.

Check for tears and scuffing.

12 Securing Ring

Always replace after removal.

Insert in shaft groove.

13 Clamp

Always replace after removal.

Tensioning, refer to => [ Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107 ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107

14 CV Joint

Replace only as complete unit.

Removing, refer to => [ Removing the inner CV joint ] Drive Axle with Mounted CV Joint VL107.

Installing: Drive onto shaft until impact using plastic hammer
