Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B)

• Power Outlet Tester (V.A.G 1537/A)

• Trailer Socket Tester (VAS 5800)

The towing recognition control module (J345) detects "use of a trailer" by a performance decrease of at least 5 W.

(V.A.G 1537/A) becomes too warm after a few minutes of use and switches off automatically. After a cooling off phase, (V.A.G 1537/A) functions normally again.

Procedure

- Connect the (VAS 5051B).

- Select "Guided Fault Finding" in the (VAS 5051B).

- Use the GO TO button to select the "function/component selection" and the following menu options one after the other:

• Body

• Body repair procedures

• 01- OBD-capable system through MY 2009

• Towing sensor

• Functions

• Towing recognition control module output diagnostic test
