Fuel Tank Lid Does Not Close, Fuel Tank Lid Unlock Motor -V155- Release Rod Does Not Return Properly
Fuel tank lid (fuel door) does not close.
Technical Background
This condition may be caused by a fuel tank lid unlock motor release rod which may not completely return to its closed position.

Service
Tip:
If repaired with hose per previous bulletin, check cut length of hose for 4mm length. If hose is 4mm in length, remove and dispose.
^ Remove fuel tank lid unlock motor (see Repair Manual, Body Exterior, Group 55 - Hood, Lids).
^ Separate release rod from motor -V155-.
^ Trim a 3.5 mm long section of hose from Part No. 1J0877231A.
Tip:
Part No. 1J0877231A will repair approx. 300 vehicles and is
considered shop supplies.
^ Place the 3.5 mm hose section onto the motor piston -arrow- as
shown.
^ Ensure position of repair -arrow- and Install release rod back into position on motor.
^ Install release motor and check operation (see Repair Manual Body Exterior Group 55 - Hood, Lids, Fuel Tank Lid Unlock Motor -V155-, removing and installing).
Note:
Ensure proper opening and closing operation of fuel door after completion of repair.
