Engine, Securing on Assembly Stand






Engine, Securing on Assembly Stand

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine sling (2024A)

Shop crane (VAS 6100)

Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

Secure the engine to (VAS 6095) when working on it.

Procedure

- Move the engine transmission jack (VAG 1383A) to a workbench.





- Lower the engine/transmission assembly so that transmission makes contact with the workbench.

- Remove the engine/transmission bolts.

- Separate the transmission from engine.

- Install the (2024A) as follows and lift the engine using the (VAS 6100) off of the (VAG 1383A).





Belt pulley side:

2nd hole of rail in position 1.

Flywheel side:

1st hole of rail in position 8.

CAUTION!
Use the securing pins on the hook and drifts to prevent injury and damage to the engine and vehicle.

The peg positions on the (2024A) marked 1 to 4 face the belt pulley.

The bores in the hole rail are counted from the hook.

- Secure the engine to the (VAS 6095).
