Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair






Coolant Fan and Coolant Fan 2

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose clamps up to 40 mm diameter (3093)

Drip tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Removing

- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - and remove the lower bolts for the fan shroud - arrows -.





- Remove the engine cover/upper air filter housing. Refer to => [ Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing ] Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the intake air guide- 2 -.





- Clamp off the coolant hose using the (3093).

- Place the (VAS 6208) below and disconnect the quick release coupling - 1 -.

If the service position is needed during the following work, the coolant supply line quick release coupling must not be disconnected.

- Remove the upper fan shroud bolts - arrows -.





- Remove the fan shroud upward.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - and lay the wire free.





- Remove the nuts - arrows - and remove the fans.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order. When doing this note the following:

- Coolant checking and topping off, if necessary. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
