Turbocharger And Coolant Return Pipe Overview







1 - Gasket
- Replace
2 - Nut
- Tightening order
- Replace
- Coat studs of the exhaust manifold with hot bolt paste; Hot bolt paste.
3 - Bolt
- 20 Nm plus an additional 45 degrees (1/8 turn)
4 - Seal
- Replace
5 - Coolant Return Line
6 - Bolt
- 9 Nm
7 - Turbocharger
- Can only be replaced with exhaust manifold and pressure unit.
8 - Bracket
9 - Bolt
- 30 Nm
- Coat bolt with hot bolt paste.
10 - Bolt
- 30 Nm
- Coat bolt with hot bolt paste.
11 - Nut
- Do not loosen to remove turbocharger
- Replace
- 30 Nm
- Coat studs of the exhaust manifold with hot bolt paste.
12 - Fastening Strip







Turbocharger Tightening Sequence

Tighten bolts -1 through 5 - in 4 stages as follows:
1. Tighten bolts to 5 Nm.
2. Tighten bolts to 12 Nm.
3. Tighten bolts to 16 Nm.
4. Tighten bolts to 25 Nm.
