Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor







Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor

Replacement of Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor and of Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor is performed the same.

Removal


Always following usage and safety information for gas discharge lamps. Refer to => [ HID Headlamps, Usage and Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions!

During removal and installation, leave ignition key with remote control inside the vehicle to prevent the doors from locking and possibly activating the "Coming Home / Leaving Home" functions on its own.

- Remove headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamp Housing ] Headlamp Housing.

- Press wire bracket - 1 - upward.






- Remove housing cover - 1 - with headlamp wiring module - 2 - from headlamp.

- Disengage the harness connectors - arrows - and disconnect the connectors.






- Carefully pry adjusting screw - 1 - out of headlamp housing - 2 -.






- Disconnect connector - 1 - of the headlamp range control positioning motor - 2 -.






- Rotate headlamp beam adjusting motor - 3 - counter-clockwise and remove it.






Installation

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Carefully set headlamp beam adjusting motor ball head - arrow - in socket - 2 - while moving reflector rearward.






- Now place adjustment motor into mount and rotate it approximately 30° clockwise until it engages.

When installing cover cap, check gasket for proper fitting. It is destroyed by entry of water into headlamp.

If one headlamp is removed, it must always be adjusted after installation.

- Check headlamp adjustment and adjust headlamp if necessary.
