DTC Memory, Checking (Function 02)

- Connecting V.A.G 1551 or VAS 5051 and initiating On Board Diagnosis (OBD).
Scan Tool, Connecting
On Board Diagnosis (OBD) For Airbag, Initiating Program
- Switch on printer with Print button (warning lamp in button lights up) if using V.A.G 1551 or print via the print menu when using VAS 5051, if necessary.
- Press buttons -0- and -2-. (Function "Interrogate Fault memory" is selected with 02).

Indicated on display:

- Confirm entry with -Q- button.

X malfunctions recognized!

The number of stored malfunctions appears in the display.

The stored malfunctions will be displayed and printed out one after the other.

- Repair malfunction(s) with aid of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table. Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions

No fault detected! ->

If "No fault recognized" is displayed the program will return to the initial position after pressing the -> button.

If something else is displayed:

See Scan tool operating instructions

- End output (function 06).
- Switch off ignition and disconnect diagnostic connection.

NOTE:
If a malfunction is recognized:
1. Repair malfunction
2. Erase DTC memory (function 05)
3. Interrogate DTC memory again (function 02).

Erase DTC memory

- Connecting V.A.G 1551 or VAS 5051 and initiating On Board Diagnosis (OBD).

- Switch on printer with Print button (warning lamp in button lights up) if using V.A.G 1551 or print via the print menu when using VAS 5051, if necessary.

Prerequisites:
- Malfunction is repaired
- DTC memory checked again

- Press buttons -0- and -5- (the function "Erase fault memory" is entered with 05).

Indicated on display:

05 Erase fault memory

- Confirm entry with -Q- button.

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer ->
Fault memory is erased.

- -> Press button

Indicated on display:

Select function XX

NOTE:
- If this appears in the display, the test sequence has malfunctioned.
- Adhere exactly to test sequence: first of all interrogate DTC memory, then erase memory.

- Press buttons -0- and -6- to end the output.
