Instrument Cluster, Adapting

• If a new instrument cluster is being installed, then it will be necessary to set the Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285) to the difference combinations depending on the country, the number of cylinders and engine type.

• In order to adapt the integrated anti-theft immobilizer to the Engine Control Module (J623) it is necessary to store the data from the Engine Control Module (J623) in the replacement instrument cluster.

• The vehicle key must be adapted after installing a new instrument cluster.

Procedure

- Connect the (VAS 5051B).

- In (VAS 5051B), select operating mode " Guided Fault Finding".

- Using the Go To button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:

• Body

• Electrical Equipment

• 01 - On Board Diagnostic capable systems

• Instrument Cluster

• Functions

• Instrument cluster - adapting/replacing/coding with the immobilizer

If an instrument cluster with "Comfort anti-theft protection " function is replaced, in vehicles with

• a MONSOON Sound System

The Radio (R) electronic anti-theft protection must be activated again.

The Comfort anti-theft protection works only after the electronic anti-theft protection has be activated.
