Rear Window Wiper, Removing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1331
Removing wiper arm
- Allow the wiper to move to the park position.
- Disconnect battery.
- Flip up cover -1- on rear window wiper and unclip.
- Loosen nut -arrow- but do not remove completely.
- Lift wiper arm and loosen by gently rocking back and forth on shaft until felt to release.
- Remove nut -arrow- and remove the wiper arm.
Motor for rear window wiper V12, removing and installing
Removing:
- Remove the lower trim from the rear hatch.
- Disconnect electrical connection -1-.
- Rotate clip at hose connection to release -2-.
- Remove hose connection from Rear windshield wiper motor.
- Remove nuts -arrows-.
- Carefully remove Rear windshield wiper motor from rear lid.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- Verify that the seal is correctly seated in the opening of the rear window. Marking -1- of seal must align with marking -2- on rear window.
- Reconnect battery.
Installing wiper arm
- With the ignition on, switch the rear windshield wiper on and off again to move the wiper motor into the park position.
- Insert wiper arm on the wiper arm shaft in the approximate end position and screw on mounting nut -arrow- hand-tight.
NOTE: Wiper arm nut -arrow- is only tightened to specified torque after adjusting wiper blade end position.
- Adjust rear window wiper blade park position.
