Undamaged Rear Window, Removing

- Disconnect harness connectors for heated rear window and press connector tabs onto window.
- Remove auxiliary brake light.
- Remove upper trim for trunk lid.







- Loosen sealing lip from window flange using plastic wedge and spray in Cleaning solution D 009 401 04 (as a substitute for lubricant).
- Using tube, insert cutting cord into window flange (cutting cable can also be used).
- Push cutting cord through adhesive sealant into vehicle interior using Awl V.A.G 1474/2 (from Separating device for bonded windows V.A.G 1474 A).
- Pull through outer cord end inward and counter-hold using Pulling grip V.A.G 1351/1.
- Secure inner cord end to Spooling tool V.A.G 1654.
- Position spooling tool V.A.G 1654.







- Insert Protective molding foil V.A.G 1474/14 - 1 - between rear window and headliner.
- Move Spooling tool V.A.G 1654 according to position required and cut windshield free.







- While cutting free, press cutting cord against window using plastic wedge in order to have clearance from window flange.
