Shift Lever With Shift Lever Bearing, Removing and Installing



Shift lever with shift lever bearing, removing and installing, 01A, 5 SPD. M/T (AWD)

Removing
^ Carefully pry off shift lever boot from center console.
^ Remove knob with shift lever boot.
^ As of 1100, remove shift knob with shift lever boot.





^ Rubber cover for shift mechanism housing must be unscrewed - arrows -.





^ Remove mounting nuts - 1 - for shift mechanism housing.
This lowers shift mechanism housing.
^ Remove pivot rod, to do this unbolt socket-head bolts - 2 -.
^ Remove shift rod, to do this unbolt socket-head bolts - 3 -.
^ Loosen complete shift lever bearing from shift mechanism housing - arrows -.
^ Remove shift lever with shift lever bearing from shift mechanism housing.

Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following.

Tightening torques:
