Assembly overview, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)





Disassembly and assembly sequence.
^ Repair work must not be performed on the propshaft.
^ If propshaft is only removed from transmission or only from rear final drive, propshaft must be tied up or supported.
^ Remove and install propshaft using alignment fixture 4W dr. shaft 3298 or using alignment fixture 4W dr. shaft 3405.
^ Do not bend propshaft, only store and move when fully extended.
^ If there are complaints (noises, vibrations), adjustment must be checked before replacing propshaft.





1. Rear final drive
2. Propshaft
3. Gasket
^ replace
^ Pull off protective foil
^ Adhere sealing ring into flanged shaft

4. Lock plate
5. Hex socket head bolt, 55 Nm
^ Self-locking
^ Always replace
^ The threaded holes for the bolts in the flanged shafts must always be cleaned. (e.g. using a thread tap)

6. Shims
^ Determining thickness

7. Nut, 25 Nm
8. Stud, 10 Nm
9. Transmission





Removing and installing stud bolt
^ Unscrew and screw on stud bolt with two lock nuts - A -.

Installation position: Stud bolt with the shorter thread - arrow - points toward vehicle.
^ Tighten stud bolt.
