Clutch Hydraulic System: Service and Repair

Clutch system, bleeding, 01A, 5 SPD. M/T (AWD)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Brake filler and bleeder unit VAS 5234:

First open bleeder valve, before switching on brake filler/bleeder unit.
^ Clutch pedal is not operated.
^ Connect brake filler and bleeder unit VAS 5234.
^ Remove sound insulation beneath transmission.





^ Connect bleeder hose - A - of catch reservoir, e.g. VAG 1794, onto bleeder valve - arrow - of slave cylinder.
^ Switch on brake filler and bleeder unit VAS 5234 and bleed approximately 100 cm3 of brake fluid.

Brake fluid must not penetrate into transmission.
^ Depress clutch pedal several times after completion of bleeding process.
^ Bleed system again if necessary.
^ Install sound insulation beneath transmission.
