Auxiliary ATF Cooler, Removing and Installing
Auxiliary ATF cooler, removing and installing, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
Drip tray V.A.G. 1306:
Torque wrench 550 Nm V.A.G. 1331:
Removing
^ Remove cover from front bumper.
^ Place drip tray V.A.G. 1306 underneath.
^ Always clean area of ATF line/auxiliary ATF cooler connection.
^ Disconnect ATF lines from auxiliary ATF cooler - arrows -.
^ Plug ATF lines and auxiliary ATF cooler using clean plugs.
^ Unscrew bolts - 1 - from auxiliary ATF cooler - arrow A -.
^ Unscrew bolts - 2 - from bracket - arrow B -.
^ Unscrew bolts - 3 - from auxiliary ATF cooler - arrow A - and remove auxiliary ATF cooler.
Installing
^ Insert auxiliary ATF cooler - arrow A - and tighten bolts - 3 - for auxiliary ATF cooler.
^ Tighten bolts - 2 - for bracket - arrow B -.
^ Tighten bolts - 1 - from auxiliary ATF cooler - arrow A -.
^ Always replace O-rings - 1 -.
^ Coat O-ring - 1 - with ATF.
^ Make sure that O-rings are seated properly so that they do not slip out of their seating when connecting ATF lines.
^ Insert ATF lines - 2 - completely into auxiliary ATF cooler by hand to stop.
^ Only tighten bolts - 3 - when ATF lines are completely connected.
^ Then check ATF level and top off.
^ Check ATF line connections - 2 - for proper seal when checking ATF level.
^ Install cover for front bumper.
