^ Diagnostic operation system VAS5051 A
^ Diagnostic cable, 3 m with voltage supply VAS5051/1 or Diagnostic cable, 5 m without voltage supply VAS5051/3

CAUTION:
^ During a test drive you must always secure testing and measuring equipment on the back seat.
^ These devices may only be operated by a passenger during a test drive.

Vehicles up to 09.00





- Remove cover over Data Link Connector (DLC) on the right, next to parking brake lever.
- Plug the connector of diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3 into the vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).

Vehicles from 10.00





- Plug the connector of diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 or VAS5051/3 into the vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).

All functions that were performed up to this point on the V.A.G. 1551 can also be performed using the new tester VAS5051 A in the operation mode "On Board Diagnosis (OBD)" Operators Manual for diagnostic operation system VAS 5051 A.





- Turn on tester - arrow -.
The tester is operational when it displays the operating modes selections.

- Switch on ignition.
- Touch Guided Fault Finding on screen.
- Select one after the other:
^ Brand
^ Model
^ Model year
^ Version
^ Engine code

- Confirm data entered.

Note:
^ Wait until tester has checked all control modules in vehicle.

- Press the Go to button and select the "Function/component selection" function.

Now follow information given on screen to start the desired functions.
